Now offering “Incentive Packages”!

Artesian Lights is now offering what we are calling “Incentive Packages” for our lighting products and installation. Given the current state of the Economy, whether you believe it’s as bad as they say it is or not, it is becoming more difficult for most people to feel motivated to get what they want for their yard, house or landscape. Afterall, being motivated to save has never been more important to some people than it is right now. With that in mind, Artesian Lights has set out to offer a more economical solution to help with that purchase of a new lighting system. For a limited time, we are offering package deals FAR below what most companies are charging for lighting; allowing those of you who would like to install lighting now to go ahead and get it done! Special conditions apply.

Hot & Dry

In case some of you haven”t noticed, it’’s HOT, and boy is it DRY! In the middle TN area, according to the National Weather Service, Nashville is officially 10.55 inches below normal since January 1st of this year. And we”re not even the worst, other parts of Middle TN have figures as low as 13 inches below average! Watering with a hose can actually waste a tremendous amount of water, and no one wants to carry bucket after bucket of water to send a drink to those thirsty trees or shrubs. Check out our “Contact Us” page and ask Artesian Lights about an affordable, custom-designed “Drip Irrigation System”. Drip irrigation is the most affordable and precise ways to water your flowers, container gardens, and even your shrubs or small trees. Let us help you create something that works with your budget and for the health of your beautiful landscape!

A “Pop-Up” Tip - Watering Times

Do you have irrigation? Do your lawn or plants still look like they’re “on their way out”? Or perhaps you have trouble keeping fungus or mold away from your landscape. TRY THIS. Set you irrigation system to start it’s cycle in the early morning hours, doing the majority of it’s watering between 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. rather than in the middle or only at the end of the day. These morning cycles should typically be running at least 30-40 minutes/zone. Watering in the middle of the day allows for more evaporation than absorption, and too much water in the early evening to night-time hours can leave the water sitting on your plants for too long, creating an environment conducive to mold and mildew growth. This one little tip can save your plants from looking sickly, as well as keep your lawn greener, and more healthy. During these hotter summer months, watering mid-day can be a good thing, but keep that cycle short, five minutes or less per lawn-watering zone just to cool your grass off. You can also water at the end of the day as well, but again, keep this cycle shorter than your morning cycle, just enough to give your plants a short drink. If you need us to come and program your system for you, just give us a call. If your controller is old or you’re not sure your controller can do this, we can set you up with a new controller to make life that much easier for you!

A “Bright Idea” - Solar Lights?

Each of us likes to spend at least some of our free time poking around The Home Depot or Lowes to pick up those much needed materials for that “do-it-yourself” project in the garden you’ve wanted to get started on - I know, because I’m there all the time! If you happen to pass the isle where they sell solar-powered lighting and the thought enters your mind, before you buy, think through the decision. Sure they’re pretty, they look nice in the day-light, and they’re affordable, but when they turn on at night, they just don’t light up the garden or path like you thought they would. Unfortunately for the consumer, the technology simply does not yet exist to make solar powered cells small enough to store the power needed to light a lamp bright enough to match the intensity of “Low-Voltage” landscape lighting. “Low-Voltage” landscape lighting provides greater illumination than solar-powered lights and is more energy-efficient than flood lighting or “Line Voltage” lighting. Click on the “Work We’ve Done” page to view some of our lighting projects to see how “Low Voltage” landscape lighting can enhance the beauty and security of your home and garden.
